Background Information

Norton Centre for the Creative Industries, a trading arm of Enterprise Gateway C.I.C.,  is creating an exciting new Digital Media Centre (DMC) in the heart of the community neighbourhood of Norton to engage those living in the area, in creative and digital content production. We will offer free high-speed internet connectivity, access to computers with specialist creative media production software, onsite digital expertise and support to help members of the local community turn their hobbies and business ideas into viable enterprises and sustainable businesses, through expert advice and networks.

 

The Sheffield Community Network is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and brings together key local partners to deliver a programme of interventions and investment in infrastructure that creates a seedbed for community-based growth, enabling the creation of new businesses and jobs. Sheffield Community Network is supported financially by the European Union. The project has attracted £2.3 million investment from the European Regional Development Fund as part of Europe’s support for the region’s economic development through the 2007-2013 Yorkshire and Humber ERDF Programme.’

Post 1

DMC Community Enterprise Engagement Manager

Full Time 40 hours per week £18,000pa

Permanent post with funding until September 2013

 

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual, preferably with Creative and Digital Industry experience, to lead, plan, manage and deliver on key objectives in the agreed DMC proposal. You will manage the day to day operations of the Centre and support users of the Centre to engage with digital technologies in order to generate jobs and create businesses. You will work with our project team on the further development of the DMC to ensure it’s continued success and sustainability

It is expected that you will be able to show excellent organisational skills, along with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire. This is an exciting agenda with ambitious targets.  If you feel you have the skills and experience to support this agenda, we would like to hear from you.

 

Post 2

DMC Senior Creative Apprentice (Full Time £7,000pa)

Full Time 40 hours per week £7,000pa

Permanent post with funding until September 2013

 

We are looking for a talented individual with the necessary skills to support the day to day operations of the Centre and to support users of the Centre to engage with digital technologies in order to generate jobs and create businesses. You will have access and be able to signpost to other support and expertise available through Enterprise Gateway C.I.C.

You will be required to participate in an apprenticeship scheme giving talented young people an opportunity to develop a pathway towards a career in graphic design, video production and photography. You will be able to call upon the reliability and reputation of experienced production technicians to support the development of your own skills as well as those of DMC users.
