 VACANCY

Development Worker

25 hours per week (Salary:  £16,354 pro rata)

Initially until 31st March 2013 – extended subject to funding

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Lowedges Batemoor and Jordanthorpe Community Forum to appoint a Development Worker to join our team. 

The Development Worker will work within LBJ to develop the Greenhill Bradway Youth Centre into a community resource to be used by all ages and work with partners to develop a partnership approach to provide more volunteer opportunities for local people.

There will also be elements of working with the members of the community aged over 55.

Do you have experience of working with local communities and developing projects?  Would you like to help members of the community to access more services and opportunities?  If yes, then this could be the perfect job for you!

The post holder will:

  •  Develop a business plan for the Greenhill Bradway Youth Centre
  •  Support and promote local volunteering opportunities
  •  Seek funding to support projects to continue and grow
  •  Knowledge of the local area is desirable, so applications from residents within this community are particularly welcome. 

We are looking for someone who enjoys a challenge and has the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing.

The post is funded by the South Community Assembly.
