Sheffield Community Network

The Sheffield Community Network is an initiative funded through the European Regional Development Fund. It aims to promote digital opportunities in Sheffield communities to encourage social enterprise, job creation and digital participation. The programme will provide advice, support and funding to individuals and groups across the city.

The project will invest in a number of social enterprises and local community centres to encourage people in the digital industries, especially those who are facing social exclusion and disadvantage.

As part of this investment, two grant schemes will distribute funding and support:

  • The Digital Media Centre fund for the development of community projects wishing to provide digital media resources to deprived communities.
  • The Social Enterprise Equipment  fund for the encouragement of the start up and growth of digitally based enterprises with a social benefit.
