The funding ‘pot’ for round 2 is £12,732 and applications can be submitted for between £250 and £2,500. The deadline for applications is Friday 14 September 2012. Projects will be expected to start after 1 October 2012 and be completed within 12 months.
The funding is open to all community groups and voluntary organisations based in the ward or providing services and activities to residents in the ward. Projects should address the ward priorities which are:-
Environment
- Improve parks and open spaces
- Improve the streetscene
Safer and Stronger Communities
- Improve shopping areas
- Improve community safety-tackling anti-social behaviour and creating community cohesion
- Improve community buildings- increase quality and use
- Develop and sustain the voluntary ,community and faith sector(including advice and Information services)
Health and Wellbeing
- Improve activities and services for children and young people
- Improve activities for older people
- Tackle health inequalities-childhood dental health, childhood obesity, teenage pregnancy, drug and alcohol misuse and smoking cessation
Access to Learning, Skills and Employment Support
- Increase opportunities to access learning skills and employment
The emphasis will be on the creation of new grassroot groups based in the ward and on the sustainability of smaller community groups. Individuals, private sector organisations and public sector bodies are not eligible to apply
